Luke's goal is to balance eco-friendly with safety and sustainability, while making toys that are affordable and fun.
Luke's Toy Factory makes award-winning, eco-friendly toys made with sawdust reclaimed from U.S. furniture manufacturers. By incorporating sawdust, Luke's toy trucks are able to use 30% less plastic than traditional plastic toys, and instead of being incinerated the sawdust is given a second life, resulting in durable toys with a silky-smooth feel.
As a small boy, Luke Barber, founder of Luke's Toy Factory, couldn't get enough of trucks, cars, trains or anything with wheels. That passion never left, so it made sense that he would learn to design toys and bring them to life. Most importantly, Luke wanted his toys to be made here in the U.S. with locally sourced materials.
Luke designs toys with a simple, old school wooden style. These toys look like they could have been hand crafted by a skilled wood worker, designed like a real truck. But the toys are made using state of the art manufacturing processes and materials in the USA. Sourced material, manufacturing tools, and material supplier is American. Toy truck parts are mix and match. Slight wiggle room means that kids aged 3+, can develop their problem solving, creative play, and fine-motor skills without getting frustrated.
We've taken out 30% of the plastic and replaced it with organic materials - Maple sawdust, Walnut shells, Faxfibers and more, from U.S. sources. This is combined with safe, certified clean plastic pellets to make our toys. The organic material that goes into the toy varies, so some colors will vary slightly from the images. Colors are molded in, not painted on, so there's nothing to flake off. There are no BPA or Phthalates are in Luke's toys and they all meet or exceed all USA safety standards. Luke's goal is to balance eco-friendly with safety and sustainability, while making toys that are affordable and fun.
