Robert C. O’Brien was a writer and editor for Newsweek, National Geographic, and other publications. He wrote Z for Zachariah, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, The Silver Crown and more. He lived in New York City and Washington DC until his death in 1973.
